US–Iran talks continue as Trump says war could end soon

US President Donald Trump says the conflict involving Iran could end “quickly,” as negotiations continue over Iran’s nuclear programme.

Reports say the US has proposed a 14-point draft framework that may lead to a broader nuclear deal. It includes ideas like limiting Iran’s uranium enrichment, easing sanctions, and reopening key shipping routes like the Strait of Hormuz. However, nothing has been finalized.

Iran says it is still reviewing the proposal and will respond through mediators. Iranian officials have dismissed the plan as unrealistic and warned they are ready to respond strongly if pressured.
Trump claims recent talks have been “very good” and insists Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon. He has also warned of possible military action if no agreement is reached.

At the same time, tensions remain high in the region, with ongoing clashes involving Israel, Hezbollah, and continued disruptions to shipping in the Gulf.
