Ivory Coast Reveal Strong Squad for 2026 World Cup Challenge

The list of players selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is gradually being unveiled, and Ivory Coast announced its squad this Friday afternoon under coach Emerse Faé.
The Elephants have been drawn into Group E, where they will face Ecuador, Germany, and Curaçao. To prepare for the challenge, Faé has relied on a mix of experienced stars and exciting attacking talent.
Among the notable selections is Elye Wahi, who earned his place after an impressive finish to the season with OGC Nice. Midfield leaders Seko Fofana and Franck Kessié are also expected to play crucial roles with their experience and leadership.
Another highly anticipated return is that of Nicolas Pépé. The winger, who enjoyed an excellent season with Villarreal CF, was surprisingly left out of Ivory Coast’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. His comeback could provide an important attacking boost for the Elephants in North America.
However, several notable players were not included in the final squad. Sébastien Haller, Christopher Opéri, Martial Godo, and Yann Gboho will miss out on the tournament.
