Neymar received positive news this week after being included in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by coach Carlo Ancelotti. The tournament is expected to be the final World Cup appearance of the 34-year-old star, making the call-up especially meaningful for him.

To secure his place in the squad, Neymar reportedly agreed to several conditions set by the manager and has since been working intensely to regain top form with Santos FC.
However, concerns emerged once again on Thursday after Santos medical coordinator Rodrigo Zogaib confirmed that Neymar has picked up another injury. According to the club, the Brazilian forward is dealing with a minor calf problem accompanied by swelling.
“Neymar has a small calf injury with some swelling, but according to our recovery schedule, he should be fit next week when he joins the national team,” Zogaib explained.
The injury is expected to keep Neymar sidelined for between five and ten days. While it is not currently considered serious enough to threaten his World Cup participation, it adds to the growing concerns surrounding his physical condition after several injury setbacks in recent years.
Because of the issue, Neymar missed Santos’ 2-2 draw against San Lorenzo in the Copa Sudamericana on Thursday night.
